JONESBORO (1/26/10) - The Arkansas State Athletics Department has announced it will honor military, police, fire and medical personnel on "Heroes Night" at the Convocation Center when the Red Wolves men's basketball team hosts Louisiana-Lafayette in a Sun Belt Conference game Thursday, Jan. 28.
Members of the ASU ROTC will repel down to courtside prior to the 7:05 p.m. tip-off, and during the game, sponsored by Southern Home Health Care, all the heroes of our society will be asked to stand and be recognized. The heroes in uniform or with their service ID will be admitted to the game free, and their guests and family will receive $5 admission.
"We are obviously extremely grateful for the service the heroes of our community provide, and this is one way we can show our appreciation and give back in honor of their dedication to our society," said ASU?Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions Gleen Hart.
In addition to "Heroes Night", ASU will be holding a number of other promotions during the game. The first 100 ASU students will receive a ticket for a free Subway sandwich, and the "Subway Shootout", "Fat City Rundown" and "ASU Bookstore $10,000 Shootout" will be held. One lucky fan will also have the opportunity to win cash prizes in the "Cash Cube" and additional fan give-aways will be in place.
Joey Perry Martial Arts will also have a special halftime performance for those in attendance.

The ASU men's and women's basketball teams both have a pair of home games this week. The women's team will be in action Wednesday, Jan. 27 against Louisiana-Lafayette at 7:05 p.m. and play again Saturday, Jan. 30 against Denver at 3:05 p.m. In addition to Thursday's game against the Ragin' Cajuns, the men will also play the Pioneers on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
