Missouri Navy recruiter gets probation

NEW MADRID, Mo. (AP) - A southeast Missouri Navy recruiter has been sentenced to five years of probation and a four-year suspended prison term for evidence tampering.

The Southeast Missourian reported that 35-year-old Robbie Millsaps, a recruiter in the Cape Girardeau area, was sentenced Wednesday.

Millsaps was originally charged with statutory rape following his arrest in September, before pleading guilty to the lesser charge. He was originally accused of a sexual encounter with a 16-year-old girl after the girl had inquired about joining the Navy.
