LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say seven people have been arrested after an indictment accused them of running a drug ring in northeast and central Arkansas.
Prosecutors say all seven face up to life in prison and up to a $4 million fine, or both.
Prosecutors say agents have seized more than 15 kilograms of cocaine powder, which is used to make crack cocaine. They say the drugs were sold in Newport, Jonesboro, Searcy, Blytheville and Little Rock.
Those arrested Thursday are: 29-year-old Joe Lewis Brandon Jr. of Newport, 30-year-old Frederick Lamond Taylor of Newport, 23-year-old Henry Demon Peel of Newport, 34-year-old Leslie Armstrong of Newport, 28-year-old Otis Lesley Hill of Jonesboro, 32-year-old Timothy D. Maddox of Searcy and 37-year-old Vidall Lyn Swanson of Newport.
