Winter Blast closes schools, makes roads slick

Jonesboro, AR (KAIT) A number of schools in Region 8 are closed Friday due to Winter Blast.  Roadways are slick in much of the area and some power outages have been reported in Region 8.

Moderate freezing rain and sleet fell overnight creating hazardous driving conditions.  Many roads north of a line from Wynne to Searcy are slick.  Police ask that you drive carefully and to stay at home unless it is an emergency.
