How to have fun away from the snow

By Brandi Hodges - bio | email

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - When we do have the snow and ice conditions many families look for ways to stay inside where it's warm!

"You can't spend all day out there it's just too cold," said John Bunch.

After Friday snow is everywhere you look and while it can be fun to play in.

"Just get the sled out and get on the sled and you can go down the snow on the sled," said Abby Bunch.

There can be too much of a good thing.  John Bunch and his five-year-old daughter Abby do play outside.

"I just worry about her getting too cold and her feet getting wet it's just too cold," said John Bunch.

They also find ways to have fun inside.

"We put bread crumbs on the back porch and counted all the birds that came up and all that fun stuff so there's lots to do without going outside and freezing all day," said Bunch.

Abby has games, toys, and best of all an imagination!

"She pretty well entertains herself.  There's not many times when she's like, ‘Daddy I need something to do'," said Bunch.

Knowing there was a snow storm coming Bunch said he didn't do much planning.  He knew he would keep Abby inside as much as possible but also take advantage of the snow while it's here.

"It's not like we're likely to get snowed in for a week or anything and even if we did we'd have plenty to do," said Bunch.
