JACKSON COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – The two men accused of sinking the Mary Woods 2 in Jacksonport have been officially charged in a Jackson County court.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Department says Paul Morrison of Gobles, Michigan and Richard Rife of Newport were charged with commercial burglary and criminal mischief in the 2nd degree.

The Mary Woods #2 had been moored at Jacksonport State Park since it was donated in 1967. It was found Sunday morning up-side-down in 20 feet of water in the White River.

The 157-ton towboat had been the primary attraction at the park since it's donation.

Morrison and Rife are in the Jackson County Detention Center on a $500,000 bond and are due to appear in court again on February 10th.
