Brady speaks at Tip-Off Club

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State coach John Brady poked a little fun at his former team three days before the Red Wolves play at Arkansas-Little Rock in an in-state showdown.

During a speech at the Downtown Tip-Off Club on Monday, Brady said he has "a nice young team that's playing some pretty good basketball right now." Arkansas State is 8-2 in Sun Belt Conference play.

Brady, who was fired by LSU in 2008, drew some laughs when he joked that he wasn't going to say anything about "how bad the LSU basketball team is since I left."

LSU is 0-7 in Southeastern Conference play this season.

Last year, when Brady spoke at the Tip-Off Club, he looked at LSU as a source of vindication because his former players were having success there.
