Red Wolves Bowling post 3-2 record on first day of Griffin Invitational

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (2/5/10) - The Arkansas State women's bowling team went 3-2 on the first day of baker style competition at the Griffin Invitational in St. Louis, Mo. Friday afternoon.

The Red Wolves started the day off with a 945-845 loss to Wisconsin-Whitewater but bounced back to take back-to-back wins over Valparaiso (1001-894) and Elmhurst (946-898).  ASU fell in the fourth match 966-884 to Nebraska, but the Red Wolves finished the day with a 936-750 win over Louisiana Tech.

"We started out pretty tight," said ASU head coach Justin Kostick.  "We actually made some changes in our match against Valparaiso and played pretty well after that.  I think tomorrow will go much better."

Action at the Griffin Invitational will resume Saturday, Feb. 6 at 10:30 a.m.
