2 arrested after ammunition & bomb components found in Region 8

CLARKTON, MO (KAIT) – Two people in Region 8 are facing felony charges after police find ammunition and components of a pipe bomb.

According to the Dunklin County Sheriff's Department, warrants were served at two homes, one at 201 N. Lorton Street and 107 West Pierce Street in Clarkton.

Officers arrested 39-year-old Matt Mattney and his 37-year-old wife Tammy Mattney.

When police arrived at the homes they found approximately 20 rifles, numerous rounds of ammunition, and components of a pipe bomb.

The Southeast Missouri Bomb Disposal Unit was called to the home on West Pierce Street, where the bomb components were removed & disposed.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug & Crime Control, federal agents from the Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, The Dunklin County Sheriff's Department, and Clarkton Police all helped with the search warrants.
