Bowling Green, KY (KAIT) - John Brady and the Red Wolves travelled to Bowling Green, looking for their 10th conference win.
A.J. Slaughter and Sergio Keusch denied ASU, each scoring 21 points in a 79-68 Hilltopper win Thursday night. Jeremy Evans and Steffon Pettigrew each scored in double figures for WKU.
Brandon Reed led the Red Wolves with 20 points, while Daniel Bryant chipped in 15. Brandon Peterson crashed the glass with a game-high 13 rebounds in a losing effort. The big disparity was free throws. ASU was a perfect 9 for 9 from the stripe, but the Hilltoppers were 15 of 22. 11 of Slaughter's 21 points were from the line. WKU shot 51.8% from the floor, mostly from high-percentage dunks and layups.
The loss drops ASU to 14-10, 9-4 in Sun Belt play. ASU is 2nd overall in conference, and lead the Western Division by a game over Louisiana-Lafayette. Next up for the Red Wolves is a home date with Louisiana-Monroe. Tipoff is Monday night at 7:05pm at the Convocation Center.
