Sharp County looks at natural gas lines

HARDY, Ark. (AP) - Sharp County residents are getting a chance to show the government if they want a proposed $30 million project to run natural gas lines throughout the county.

Sharp County Judge Larry Brown said home and business owners are being asked for a $100 deposit to give officials with the U.S. Department of Agriculture an idea of how widely natural gas is wanted in the county.

Brown said the availability of natural gas could help spur economic growth in the north Arkansas county.
