Police: Region 8 felon arrested with stolen gun

BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) –A Region 8 man is behind bars after police say he stole a gun from a Mountain Home man's home.

According to the Baxter County Police, Chad Schaefer is accused of stealing a gun from a home at 175 Town Park Drive in rural Mountain Home.

Schaefer is accused of taking a .45 long colt Taurus revolver valued at $463.

The Baxter County Sheriff's Department found Schaefer at the Spring Valley Motel with the stolen weapon.

Schaefer is charged with theft of property and felon in possession of a firearm. Schaefer is in the Baxter County Jail on a $10,000 bond. His next court appearance is set for March 11.
