Blytheville teen faces robbery charges

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) – Blytheville Police have charged a second man in the robbery of a Blytheville juvenile.

According to Blytheville Police, officers responded to the 400 block of North 2nd Street after a juvenile said reported he had been robbed and shot at.

Police say 18-year-old Joe Brown and 18-year-old Joe Perkins approached the victim and then got into a fight. The victim states during the altercation a gun was pulled and several shots were fired. The victim ended up fleeing from the scene.

The victim's gym bag was taken during the robbery which included clothing, shows, and a portable play station.

Brown was found in Garlanda County, Arkansas on February 17 and transported back to Blytheville. Brown faces aggravated robbery charges and is in the Mississippi County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.

Perkins is charged with capital murder and aggravated robbery in the shooting death of R.D. Newbern on February 8.
