MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. (AP) - A Mountain Home businessman has announced for the Democratic nomination for the 1st Congressional District seat.
Ben Ponder joins at least three others in the race for the Democratic nomination to succeed retiring Democratic Rep. Marion Berry. The 34-year-old Ponder says he's resigned as vice president of a retail pharmacy to focus on the race.
State Rep. David Cook, former state Sen. Tim Wooldridge and former Berry chief of staff Chad Causey have also said they're running for the Democratic nomination. Rick Crawford and Princella have announced as Republican candidates.
