Don't miss out on your chance to be a part of "The Show Me Sellout"

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - "The Show Me Sellout," Southeast Missouri's department-wide effort to pack the Show Me Center for the Redhawks final basketball games against Austin Peay on Feb. 27, is rapidly approaching.

Over 6,000 tickets have been sold and distributed for "The Show Me Sellout," but some reserved, lower-level tickets are still available. All fans holding tickets are encouraged to use them or give them to someone who will attend the game. Tickets can be purchased by calling 1-866-SEMO-TIK (573-651-2113 in Cape), logging on at GoSoutheast.com or by visiting the Redhawk Athletics Ticket Office at 1221 Broadway from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday and 1 p.m.-3:30 p.m., on Saturday leading up to the game. Tickets are also available at the Show Me Center Box Office in advance and on game day.

Fans are reminded to arrive early since most seats in the 200 level (excluding season ticket locations) of the Show Me Center are General Admission and can be claimed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Southeast head coaches Dickey Nutt and John Ishee are asking all fans to WEAR RED for this exciting event. Show Me Center doors open at 5 p.m. with the women's game tipping-off at 5:30 p.m. and the men's game starting at 7:45 p.m.

"I would love to look up in the stands and see a sea of red," said Nutt. "This is a great opportunity for our crowd to make a difference. The amount of support for this event has been incredible and we need our fans to get loud and help lead us to victory."

Southeast students are encouraged to come early, make noise and pack the 850-seat "Redhawks Nest" student section. All Redhawk Basketball tickets are FREE for Southeast students with a valid ID.

"We need our students to get this place rocking," said Nutt. "Our students can be the ultimate 6th man and really help create a major home court advantage."

Fans who attend "The Show Me Sellout" are invited to participate in and enjoy the following activities and entertainment:

Redhawk Festival

Take part in fun activities and play exciting games from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the Redhawk Festival located on the second floor/east concourse of the Show Me Center. Have your face painted, take a FREE photo with Rowdy the Redhawk and participate in other fun games. All activities are FREE and geared primarily for Redhawk fans ages 13 and under.

Honorary Captains

Remember Southeast Missouri Basketball teams of yesterday with the introduction of two hoops legends. Women's Basketball all-conference performer Pat Colon will serve as the honorary captain for the women's game. Carl Ritter will be the honorary captain introduced with the Redhawk men's team. Colon was the only Southeast Women's Basketball player to ever score 1,000 points and record 1,000 rebounds in a career. Ritter was a two-time All-American and still ranks as the Redhawks all-time leading scorer. Both Colon and Ritter are the only two student-athletes to ever have their jerseys retired at Southeast Missouri.

In-Game Activities:

• Senior Night ceremonies for women's basketball Student-Athlete Lesley Adams and men's basketball Student-Athletes Johnny Hill, Israel Kirk and LaMont Russell. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to show their appreciation.

• Performances and Senior Night ceremonies for the Southeast Cheerleaders & Sundancers.

• Live National Anthem performance by Southeast ensemble Phi Mu Alpha with accompanying ROTC Color Guard.
