BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A Baxter County man is in custody after a manhunt Wednesday morning in the Three Brothers Community.

According to the Baxter County Sheriff's Department, Tracy Standridge was set to appear in court Wednesday morning as a defendant in a jury trial. Standridge was appealing an earlier conviction of battery ion the third degree and violating an order of protection.

Standridge was seen fleeing from Mountain Home early Wednesday morning. Police used tracking dogs, and a helicopter to locate Standridge, and he was finally caught a few hours later hiding under a piece of equipment near the landfill.

The judge dismissed his appeal and enforced the original sentence which included $1,460 in fines and 12 months in the county jail, with 6 months suspended.

Standridge was transported to the Baxter County Detention Center to begin serving his six months sentence, and has also been charged with intimidation of a witness. His bond was set at $100,000 on that charge.
