JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - It's Women's History month and Arkansas State University is celebrating it with a number of special events.
First up is a musical performance from the tour group, "Ain't I a woman?"
This troupe has been traveling and entertaining for about three years.
Their performance is a celebration of the black individuals throughout of history that have helped to shape who we are today.
ASU students and faculty were given the opportunity Wednesday morning to sit down with the musicians and actors from the tour group for a one on one question and answer session.
Chair for the Lecture-Concert Committee, Gil Fowler, says this event is more than a form of entertainment, "We see this as another opportunity to give our students the opportunity to expand and grow and think in ways they might never have thought about in the past."
The performance will be March 3rd at 7:30 in the Fowler Center.
The lecture-concert series is free and open to the public.
