(JONESBORO, Ark.) – During its annual awards reception held last Saturday, Feb. 27 at the Convocation Center, the Arkansas State Red Wolf Club recognized and honored several members that have made outstanding contributions to the club. The award winners were also honored at halftime of the men's basketball game against Troy.
In addition to three Spirit Awards for enthusiasm, spirit and passion for ASU Athletics, the Red Wolf Club also presented a Distinguished Service Award for long-standing support, loyalty and dedicated service.
This year's Spirit Award winners were John and Mary Nell Masterson of Jonesboro, the McAlister/Woodard family of Cash and Lisa Golden of Osceola. The Distinguished Service Award winners were Wayne and Virginia Baker of Jonesboro.
"Every member of the Red Wolf Club is important to the success of our programs and it gets harder and harder each year to narrow it down to just a few award winners," said ASU Associate Athletic Director and Director of the Red Wolf Club Doug Doggett. "These honorees truly made a difference in the lives of our student-athletes."
For more than 50 years the Red Wolf Club has been the development arm of ASU Athletics, and its goals are to provide educational opportunities to student-athletes, improve athletic facilities and enhance donor's experiences.
