ASU Men's Golf Tied For 7th After Day Two of USF Invitational

Dade City, FL (ASU) – The Arkansas State men's golf team shot a second-round 290 Saturday at the University of South Florida Invitational to finish the day tied for seventh place with a combined 579.

The Red Wolves added one stroke to its total from Friday's opening round and dropped two places in the standings, but are just 10 strokes behind leader Florida Southern entering tomorrow's final round.  Second-place Middle Tennessee leads ASU by five strokes, while North Florida, South Alabama and Xavier are all tied for third place and just four strokes in front of the Red Wolves.

ASU finished the day tied with Louisville and ahead of 15 other competing teams.  The Red Wolves are led by Lloyd du Preez, who posted a team-best 70 for the second 18 holes and is tied for 12th place with a combined 143.  Kell Shenep and Wessel Zwiegers are also among the top-25 leaders, sitting tied for 19th place and 23rd place, respectively.

The tournament's third and final round will be played Sunday at the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club.
