JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Missouri transportation officials have generated more than half a million dollars for more road projects by selling off property.
The Department of Transportation sold 21 parcels for $678,000 by auction or sealed bid. The parcels were different shapes and sizes and sold for as much as $120,000. Transportation officials plan a second sale for April 26-30. The sale will cover 32 parcels ranging from a quarter of an acre to 200 acres.
The department says some who bought land in the first sales wanted to connect to neighboring land they owned. Others are seeking to develop the land.
