Walnut Ridge, Ark.(KAIT)- Williams Baptist College basketball players Jessica Shepard and Courtney Sublett have been chosen for All-American Midwest Conference honors. Shepard was a first team All-AMC selection, while Sublett was voted honorable mention all-conference.
Additionally, seven Lady Eagles were named to the academic all-conference squad.
Shepard, a graduate of Buffalo Island Central High School, is a sophomore from Leachville, Ark.
She led WBC in scoring with 15.8 points per game and in assists with 3.3 per game. She is the daughter of Patrick Shepard and Sherrie Shepard, both of Leachville.
Sublett, a junior from Highland, Ark, graduated from Highland High School. She averaged 13.8 points this season, as well as 2.2 assists per contest. She is the daughter of Dennis & Leigh Ann Sublett of Highland.
All-conference selections are made by a vote of AMC coaches.
Named to the academic all-conference team from WBC were Sammi Fowler, Rachel Looney, Olivia Morris, Shepard, Sublett, Kim Sutterfield and Ann Whiteside.
Fowler, a sophomore from Leachville, Ark., is the daughter of Stan & Tina Fowler. Looney, a sophomore from Walnut Ridge, is the daughter of David & Karen Looney. Morris, a sophomore from Melbourne, Ark., is the daughter of Ron & Robin Morris. Sutterfield, a sophomore from Calico Rock, Ark., is the daughter of Kenny Sutterfield of Violet Hill, Ark., & Tammy McDonald of Brockwell, Ark. Whiteside, a senior from Mammoth Spring, Ark., is the daughter of Charles & Sandra Whiteside.
