SEARCY – Harding University sophomore right-hander Kyle Cline became the second Bison pitcher in the last three weeks to earn Gulf South Conference Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday. It was Cline's second career weekly honor.
Cline, a native of Ormond Beach, Fla., earned the win in both games he pitched last week. In 12 innings, he allowed only one earned run for a 0.75 ERA. He surrendered just seven hits and struck out seven.
Against Drury on Tuesday, Cline earned his first win of the season with five solid innings, scattering five hits and allowing only one run. Sunday against Waldorf, Cline tossed his first career shutout, allowing just two hits while striking out five in a 2-0 victory.
Cline's teammate Troy Keith was the GSC Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 23. Cline's first weekly honor came last season on Mar. 24.
