HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Tevin Hammond scored 24 points to lead Little Rock McClellan to a 72-57 victory over Wynne Thursday night in the boys Class 5A championship game.
It was the first state title for the Crimson Lions (28-3) since 1970.
Hammond got a lot of help from Djuan Smith, Richard Allen and Michael Bradley as the Crimson Lions took the lead early and never trailed. Smith had 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Bradley had 10 points and 11 rebounds. Richard Allen scored nine and Hammond also had four assists and two steals.
Wynne (15-6) was in the title game for the second time in school history.
The Yellowjackets were led by Jordan Weaver with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Jake Veasley scored 13 and Eric Davis 12.
McClellan led 13-4 after one quarter and 34-25 at halftime.
