Symrna, TN (ASU) – The Arkansas State women's bowling team (71-34) posted a 5-1 record for the second straight day Saturday at the Music City Classic hosted by Vanderbilt. The Red Wolves also went 5-1 Friday to move their weekend total to 10-2 and land them third in the standings after two days of competition.
"Today was another really good day, and we have a chance to win this tournament," said ASU head coach Justin Kostick. "We have to go out, perform and win all three tomorrow. Our spare shooting has been the best we've had all year, and I'm really proud of the girls for that
ASU opened the day with five straight wins in the baker-style competition. The Red Wolves topped Nebraska 834-697, Saint Francis 716-605, Valparaiso 831-728, Winston-Salem 775-556 and Fairleigh Dickinson 738-709. Arkansas State's only loss of the day came against New Jersey City 815-746.
The Music City Classic will conclude Sunday, and ASU opens play against Sacred Heart in double elimination, best four-of-seven baker format.
