JONESBORO, AR (KAIT-TV) - It's Disability Awareness Week and Arkansas State University is working to make sure their faculty and students are prepared.
ASU held a seminar today on seizures.
Around forty attendees learned about the different types of seizures and what to do should one occur.
Amanda McMillon, Clinical Educator for St., Berndard's, says being prepared is key,"A lot of the time you don't know when this could take place and you know there's people walking all over ASU campus that probably do have some form of seizure disorders and knowing how to take care of them if they do have a seizure is very important."
Current research statistics say one out of six students in higher education struggle with some form of disability.
