COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Missouri forward Laurence Bowers will postpone surgery on torn ligaments in his left wrist until after the NCAA tournament.
Bowers disclosed the severity of the injury as the 10th-seeded Tigers prepare for a first-round East Regional game Friday against seventh seed Clemson.
Bowers had described the injury earlier as a sprain. He wore a splint last week in Missouri's first-round loss to Nebraska in the Big 12 tournament.
Bowers spent most of the season as a reserve but started the past four games in place of Justin Safford, who tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Safford also faces offseason surgery.
