ASU Men's Golf takes second place at Jackrabbit Invitational

PRIMM, Nev. (KAIT) - Led by three players picking up a top-15 individual finish, the Arkansas State men's golf team shot a three-round 875 to place second among 17 teams at the Jackrabbit Invitational that concluded Tuesday at the Primm Valley Golf Course.

After shooting a 295 for both the first and second rounds played Monday, the Red Wolves came back to record a 285 for today's third and final round.

Tyler Thompson shot a combined 215 to place tied for third and lead the Red Wolves. Thompson shot a third-round 68, which was the lowest score by an ASU player at the tournament, and finished one stroke under par for all 54 holes.

Lloyd du Preeze finished with a 218 to claim fifth place and Wessel Zwiegers placed tied for 14th place with a 223.

Nebraska shot an 860 to claim the tournament title.

The Red Wolves are back in action March 29-30 at the UALR/First Tee Intercollegiate.
