Arkansas economic breakfast shares ideas across the state

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Seven universities across the state videoconferenced Wednesday morning so conference participants could share information and discuss the state of Arkansas's economy.

The second Economics Issues Breakfast gave a chance for university faculty, city and other government officials and business leaders an up date on how the recession was still affecting Arkansas and is the state on the road to recovery.

Tuesday's session was held at the Jonesboro Center for Economic Development.

Event organizer Alan McVey the Executive Director of the Delta Center said the main purpose in the conference is to get many universities across the state on the same economic sheet of music.

"People across the state, different corners of the state, different regions of the state. We want to make sure everybody hears the same message at the same time. We feel like we're better communicating and better understanding how Arkansas as a whole is weathering this recession and how things are moving forward."
