JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – Sixteen former Arkansas State football players, including six that earned All-Sun Belt Conference recognition at least once during their career, worked out for several National Football League scouts Wednesday during the Red Wolves annual Pro Day.
The former all-conference players represented were Josh Arauco, Reggie Arnold, J.T. Jordan, Corey Leonard, Ben Owens and Dominique Williams. The other players that went through various tests and drills were Marcus Brown, Jemale Garrett, Greg Hardy, Chris Miller, Cordarious Mingo, Greg Smith, Brandon Thompkins, Stanley Wakwe and Keith Wilcots.
The event began shortly after 9:00 a.m. at the ASU Football Facility weight room. The scouts put the players through a number of tests that included vertical jump, standing long jump and bench press during the weight-room session. Shuttle drills, speed times and passing, receiving, blocking and defensive drills were conducted during the on-field testing held at Jonesboro High School's indoor facility.
Included among the NFL teams represented were the New Orleans Saints, St. Louis Rams, Chicago Bears, New York Giants, Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions, Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots.
