TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - A former southwest Arkansas mayor charged with disorderly conduct says 17 witnesses are needed to defend herself against the charge.
Former Garland Mayor Yvonne Dockery is accused of causing a disturbance on Feb. 3 when she confronted city Recorder-Treasurer Ann Wright about a water bill.
Dockery denies wrongdoing and blames Wright. A motion filed by Dockery says the witnesses have knowledge of Wright's mental state.
Proseuctors have asked a judge to quash subpoenas for some of the witnesses saying they weren't present when the altercation occurred and won't have anything relevant to add.
Dockery resigned last year after pleading guilty to recieving pay in excess of her salary. She now says she was coerced into the plea.
