Kingsport woman, 82, charged with drug offenses

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (AP) - Sullivan County Sheriff's officers have charged an 82-year-old woman with drug offenses.

The Kingsport Times-News reported the arrest of Pearl M. Jones on charges of possession of drugs with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a school, marijuana possession and maintaining a dwelling where drugs are sold.

Vice Unit officers said they found prescription medication, marijuana, cash, a handgun and cell phones. They also found several ledgers detailing drug transactions during a raid Friday.

Jones was released from the Sullivan County jail on $25,000 bond.
