ROGERSVILLE, Mo. (AP) - The Missouri Department of Natural Resources says it is testing water wells around Rogersville.
The department says a chemical degreasing agent has been found so far in three wells. The chemical could pose a health risk.
Department spokesman Judd Slivka says the chemical -- known as TCE -- was found during routine sampling of a public well.
The Springfield News-Leader reports that the department is focusing on an area within a mile of Compass Plaza, a commercial area in western Rogersville.
Johnathan Garoutte, of the department of Health and Senior Services, says the amount of TCE found so far is not considered a health concern.
