LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A sex offender who failed to register in Tennessee has been arrested in Region 8.

According to the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, William Spellman was arrested at his job in Walnut Ridge after the U.S. Marshall's service contacted the sheriff's department.

Spellman failed to register as a sex offender in Tennessee and the Marshall's service got a tip that he could be in Lawrence County. Sheriff Deputies went looking for Spellman in the Ravenden area and learned he had a job in Walnut Ridge.

Spellman was arrested without incident and is set to go before judge Friday for an extradition hearing to be sent back to Tennessee. Police say he'll face federal charges for crossing state lines and not registering as a sex offender.
