Russellville (ATU) - Arkansas Tech Baseball remains ranked eighth in this week's latest NCBWA Division II South Region poll.
Tech, who is sporting a 25-14 overall record and a 7-4 mark in the Gulf South Conference, remained eighth after dropping all three games last weekend against Southern Arkansas, who is ranked No. 1 once again in this week's NCBWA D-II South Region Poll after receiving 77 points and six out of seven possible first place votes. In addition to Tech and SAU, other GSC teams in this week's poll are Valdosta State (27-11) at No. 4, Delta State (24-10-1) at No. 5 and West Florida (26-13) at No. 6. In addition to those five ranked teams, Alabama-Huntsville (21-10) and Ouachita Baptist (21-16), who Tech plays in a three-game series this coming weekend, both earned votes in this week's poll.
Tampa (34-5), who is from the Sunshine State Conference, is ranked No. 2 as they earned one first place vote and 73 points, while Florida Southern (30-5) remains ranked at No. 3. Florida Tech (27-10) remains at no. 7, while Barry (22-11) and Rollins (23-13) are tied for ninth in this week's poll.
The Wonder Boys will return to action on Tuesday, April 6, when they play host to the University of Ozarks in a 5 p.m. contest at Tech Field. Following Tuesday's game against Ozarks, the Wonder Boys will conclude the home portion of its GSC schedule against Ouachita Baptist as the two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, April 10 beginning at 2 p.m., before concluding the series with a single game on Sunday beginning at 2 p.m.
