Kennett voters approve sales tax

KENNETT, MO (KAIT) - The people of Kennett, Missouri, will soon be paying more sales taxes.

By a vote of 66% to 34%, voters approved a 1/8th cent sales tax increase. Mayor Roger Wheeler says the increase should generate $175,000.

Meanwhile, voters in Doniphan rejected a measure that would have increased their property taxes by 35%.

Only 32% of voters approved "Proposition Pride." While the reaming 68% voted against it.
