JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jackson County Sheriff's Department have identified the body found in the Cache River near Grubbs as James Kirby.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, the body was found Friday by area landowners near the Cache River, and was sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office for identification.
Police identified Kirby by dental records. Police are still investigating the cause of death.
In November, The Jonesboro Police Department had issued a warrant for Kirby's arrest for failing to register as a sex offender. The Craighead County Sheriff's Department found his pickup on Highway 91 at the Cache River Bridge near a relative's home.
Kirby was a level three sex offender who had been missing since November 4th.
