JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Children at Nettleton Middle School got to spend a little more time outside than they originally planned after smoke in the building caused an evacuation.
According to the Craighead County 9-1-1 Center, a call came in around 10:30 Friday morning saying smoke was in the school, causing the evacuation.
When fire departments arrived, they swept the school and found it to be safe for the children to return inside. No word yet on what caused the scare.
Classes were disrupted for about an hour.
