JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A Region 8 woman was killed after her car failed to yield to an oncoming Union Pacific train in Craighead County.
The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 226 and 349 at the train tracks.
According to Arkansas State Police, Julia Fulks of Batesville failed to yield to the train, and was pushed over a mile after impact.

Highway 349 and the tracks were blocked for over 2 hours, while crews worked to clean up the wreckage.
Police say Fulks was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The Craighead County Sheriff's Department, Arkansas State Police, Craighead County Office of Emergency Management, and Union Pacific Police also worked the accident.
