ASU Track & Field Travels to Oxford for Ole Miss Invitational

Oxford, MS (KAIT) - The Arkansas State track & field teams return to competition at the Ole Miss Invitational this Saturday in Oxford, Miss.

The Red Wolves carry 11 athletes into the competition who are ranked in the top five in the conference in their respective disciplines.

Senior thrower Jesse Williams and sophomore pole vaulter Stephanie Foreman rank first in the league in their respective events. Williams set the league-leading mark of 177-9 in the discus at the Joey Haines Invitational last weekend. Foreman also set her league-best mark of 13-0 in the vault at the Joey Haines Invitational.

ASU's Soloman Williams holds the second-fastest league mark in the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.35 set at the LSU Relays. In the women's 400 hurdles, senior Caitlin Winey ranks second in the conference with a time of 1:01.79.

Senior pole vaulter's Jeremy Willis and Catheryn Frappier each rank second in the league in their gender's in their events Willis with a 16-0 mark and Frappier with a 12-6.

The Ole Miss Invitational kicks off at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday with the men's hammer and the women's javelin and wraps up with the 4 X 400 relays which begin at 7:45 p.m.
