ASU Women's Tennis Falls 4-3 at St. Louis

St. Louis (ASU) – The Arkansas State women's tennis team (6-8) dropped a slim 4-3 decision Friday afternoon on the road against the Billikens (13-7) of St. Louis University.

The Red Wolves won the doubles point, picking up wins at the No. 1 and 3 spots.  Elne' Barnard and Rone' van Wyk topped Casey Miller and Jenny Nalepa 8-4, while Jenny Herring and Menna Kamal defeated Sarah Septien and Mia Elmore 8-6.

In singles action, Arkansas State posted two victories on the day. Herring notched a 6-2, 2-6, 6-0 victory over Miller at No. 2, while van Wyk won 6-3, 6-4 over Nalepa at No. 3.

ASU's Sunday match against Tennessee Tech has been cancelled.  The Red Wolves will wrap up their regular season Saturday, April 17 when they travel to Little Rock to take on in-state Sun Belt Conference rival UALR at 2:00 p.m.
