Fight leads to shooting, and 2 men arrested in Region 8

CARUTHERSVILLE, MO (KAIT) – A late night fight in Caruthersville leads to shooting, and two people being arrested.

According to the Caruthersville Police Department, police responded to a shots fired call at 1609 Bushey Street late Thursday night.

Police say three men got into a fight, and a fourth man identified as 23-year-old Deonte Fonda was locked out of home. Police say Fonda then tried to enter the home by knocking the door off the hinges, and police say that's when 18-year-old Dominique Pulliam fired a shot in his direction.

Investigators say all the men ran from the scene, and while responding police spotted the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at West 19th Street and Carroll Ave.

Police found Pulliam in the car along with a .45 caliber handgun with ammunition. Pulliam was arrested and charged with Assault in the second degree and armed criminal action. His bond was set at $35,000 bond.

Deonta Fonda was also arrested and charged with damage of property. He was process and released on a summons to appear in court.

No one was injured in the shooting, but a 21-year-old was suffered moderate injuries in the fight at the home.
