Hino Motors to start new line at Region 8 factory

MARION, Ark. (AP) - Hino Motors is to start production on a new line at its truck parts plant in Marion.

The company said Tuesday it will conduct a ceremony Monday morning to mark the beginning of truck frame rail production.

The company says the rails will be shipped to Hino assembly plants in West Virginia and Ontario, Canada. The plant is also making

The Marion factory also turns out parts for diesel engines.

Hino opened its plant in Marion in 2006. For years, the state worked to convince an automaker to open an assembly plant in Marion. Hino indicated interest in opening a commercial truck plant in Marion, but has never moved past the discussion phase.
