BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) – A Blytheville man was arrested after police say he broke into a home and then held the homeowner hostage.

According to the Blytheville Police Department, a call came into dispatch stating someone had broken into a home in the 800 block of West McHaney and wouldn't let the homeowner leave.

Police say 23-year-old Anthony Hale broke into the home, and wouldn't let the female home owner leave. Police say the victim's cousin alerted police.

When investigators arrived, they knocked on the door, but no one would answer. A short while later, police prepared to make a forced entry when the victim inside told police the backdoor was open.

Police stormed the house, and found Hale hiding inside.

Hale has been charged with residential burglary, criminal trespassing, and fallen imprisonment in the second degree. Hale's bond was set at $15,000.
