BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) – Blytheville Police have arrested a Region 8 man in the shooting death of Monroe McGee.
According to the Blytheville Police Department, Monroe McGee was shot and killed early Sunday morning near the intersections of Myrtle and Walls Streets.
Police say 34-year-old Adrian D. Riley shot McGee to death after the two men got into an argument earlier in the night. Investigators say the argument started in the parking lot of Club Blue, and then carried over into the intersection of Myrtle and Walls Streets.
McGee was found early Sunday morning by Blytheville police shot multiple times and lying in a ditch.
Riley also has warrants for his arrest dealing with a shooting from March 31. Police say Riley shot a man in the leg near the 800 block and First Streets. The victim later identified Riley as the shooter.
Riley is charged with murder in the first degree, battery in the first degree, and possession of firearms by a certain person. A Mississippi county Judge set Riley's bond at $500,000.
