CLARKSVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Jury selection has wrapped up in the case of an Arkansas man charged with killing beauty queen Nona Dirksmeyer.
Six men and six women will consider the fate of 30-year-old Gary Dunn. He is charged with capital murder.
A disagreement over DNA evidence made the sluggish jury-selection process go even slower Wednesday.
Circuit Judge Bill Pearson dismissed five potential jurors Wednesday morning, ruling that Dunn's attorney may have mischaracterized DNA evidence from a condom wrapper found in Dirksmeyer's apartment.
Twelve jurors and four alternates have been seated, with the last selection coming at about 8:30 Wednesday night after three long days of juror interviews. Opening statements are set for 8:45 a.m. Thursday.
