Cousin of slain Fort Smith woman arrested in Missouri

FORT SMITH, AR (AP) - Police in Fort Smith say they've arrested the cousin of a woman who was found dead in a large pool of blood in her home.

Police say 50-year-old Sandra Maxine Dobbs of Havana was arrested Wednesday in Branson, Mo., where she had the dead woman's driver's license and car. Dobbs had gone to a hospital claiming she had amnesia.

Dobbs is the cousin of 54-year-old Rita Collins - who was found dead in her home Tuesday with the words "cousin Maxie" written in Collins' blood on the floor.

Authorities say Dobbs waived extradition and is being held in the Sebastian County Detention Center. It was not clear whether she had yet hired an attorney.
