KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Kansas City police are investigating a drive-by shooting in which five people were wounded early Sunday.
A news release from police says officers responded to a call about 12:30 a.m. and found five people shot, one as young as 13 years old. The officers were told the five were standing near a car parked on the street when another car drove by and shots were fired. The second car sped away. Police are not releasing a description of that vehicle.
Capt. Rick Lockhart says two men in their 20s were taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The 13-year-old boy also was taken to a hospital but his wound was not life-threatening.
Lockhart says two other people - a man and a woman in their 20s - were treated at the scene for minor gun shot wounds.
