HARRISONVILLE, MO (AP) - Opening statements are scheduled for Monday in the trial of a Harrisonville man accused of fathering four children with his teenage daughter.
The 47-year-old is not being identified by The Associated Press to protect the identity of the daughter. He is charged with second-degree murder, child endangerment and other charges involving 3 of the children.
Prosecutors say the man impregnated his daughter four times and had been having sex with her since she was 13. The daughter is now 20, and only 1 of the children she had with her father is still alive.
The father is charged in the death of 1 of the children. The bodies of 2 babies were found in January 2009 on a rural property where the family lived near Harrisonville.
