Oak Ridge Boys to be honored in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Oak Ridge Boys will receive an honor Monday from the Southern Gospel Music Guild.

The country quartet, who got their start in gospel music, will receive the guild's President's Honor and perform at the guild's Harmony Honors Celebration Concert at the Opryland Hotel.

The Oak Ridge Boys, during a 40-year career, have sold more than 30 million records, including their signature song "Elvira."

Duane Allen, a founding member of the group, said gospel music is the foundation of their music.
