JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - At Tuesday night's Jonesboro City Council meeting, council members heard the first reading of an ordinance that might change The Links apartment complex's zoning.  The ordinance would change the zoning to "Planned Unit Development" or PUD.

Jonesboro Mayor Harold Perrin says changes are being requested in order to get a desired utility structure.

"When they got into looking at some of the things they would have to do and have the individual single meters, than the utility company suggested that they go to the pud.  They couldn't do it under just an R-3 multi family," said Perrin.

Perrin says the ordinance will be read at least one more time before any final decisions are made.  Perrin says The Links plans to add 264 apartments.
